Know Your Exam
Admission to three years programme of D.Ed (Diploma in Education) is granted to the students after earning a certificate of qualification of Senior Secondary Examination subject to other eligibility conditions as notified by the authority governing the admission. During first two years, examinations are conducted by this Board in accordance with the Syllabi of D.Ed (Diploma in Education) Course bifurcated into four semesters, whereas third year is meant for internship. At the end of each semester, examination is conducted by the Board for only those students who after seeking admission in the Colleges/Institutes (affiliated with this Board), allotted to them by the authority governing admission to this Course (SCERT), complete the prescribed course of study and attain required percentage of attendances and also possess good moral character. After qualifying examination of all the four semesters and completing internship, as provided in the D.Ed regulations, a Diploma Certificate is awarded by this Board. |
Eligibility
A student becomes eligible to appear in the examination of each semester only if he/she possesses good moral character and also completes prescribed course of study by attaining at least 85% attendance as a regular student in the Colleges/Institutes recognized by the NCTE and affiliated by this Board. |
Scheme of Studies
Based on Re-envisioned Elementary Teacher Education Programme prepared by the NCTE Review Committee, this Board with effect from 2011(admission year), adapted the syllabi of NCTE and bifurcated the same into four semesters as detailed here under. |
Syllabus
The new D.Ed curriculum includes new perspectives in elementary school education and also delineates rationale behind their inclusion. The new area of engagements, whether in foundation or other courses, make this Curriculum more demanding and challenging and it must only help in upgrading the academic standards and the infrastructure to deliver, in our institutions. Most of the courses have been designed to include unit-wise readings so that both faculty and students are able to do self-study as well. Qualifying Criteria
(I) In order to qualify any semester examination, a candidate shall be required to obtain minimum 40% marks separately in each course as below a) Theory Course b) Practice Teaching c) Practical Work Provided that if a trainee is declared fail/reappear in one or more course(s) due to his/her not securing minimum pass marks in any part of internal, he/she will have to appear in subsequent examinations for both external and internal of that course(s). Such pupil teacher in order to qualify in internal shall have to make up his/her deficiency and improve his performance to the levels prescribed in the curriculum. The marks of internal assessment of higher semester of such candidate shall be submitted after attaining of such efficiency in lower semester. Provided further that if a candidate is declared fail/reappear due to his/her not securing minimum pass marks in either Theory part or/and Practical of external examination of a course(s) of any semester but has secured minimum pass marks in internal of theory course(s) or/and internal/external Practice Teaching or/and internal/external Practical, he/she shall have to appear only in external examination of Theory course(s) subject to his/her eligibility and the marks earlier secured by him/her in internal (Theory Course)/Practice Teaching (Internal & External) and Practical (Internal & External) shall be carried forward while computing his/her result. (II) Weightage of each semester shall be 25%. |
